an unacknowledged base of capitalism is the presumption of title. title is the capitalist justification for the ownership of property. wealth is accumulated in property and income is extracted from it. an ordinary person may lay legitimate claim to some income from property without ownership of it. i can catch a fish in the river but i may not own the river. capitalist use title to seize ownership of the property which produces income. then ordinary people may purchase a title. a title is an assumed privilege to begin with. it is the claim over nature, which is the theft of nature. if i buy a stolen bicycle, it does not become mine in law.
capitalism is not really an economic system. it is a political system, designed to control land and accumulate wealth for the ones who claim ownership and so claim rule.
